FAIN: FT-12516-75

The phenomenon of the grotesque in the 19th (century so essential to an understanding of Romanticism, has never been studied in France. P.I. plans to spend summer of 1975 doing research in Paris for a study hopefully to be published in book form. Research would connect Baudelaire to a tradition that goes back to Villon and continues today in the surrealist vein of the modern poets and to place him in an aesthetic universe unlimited by time or space.
