To examine moral philosophy and ethical aspects of biomedical research The P.I. will: 1) study a prescribed bibliography of classical and contemporary writings in moral and ethical philosophy, 2) discuss these philosophical works and their application to biology with professional philosophers, research scientists, and medical practitioners; 3) attend a professional meeting concerning bioethical issues.
