To examine the relationship between Jung's psychoanalytic interpretation of alchemy as a metaphorical statement of the process of creative imagination and Lawrence's use of alchemical symbols for the themes of initiation and transformation. Project will increase understanding of the traditions in which both Jung and Lawrence developed.
