Collection and Classification of Judeo-Spanish Folktales from Isreal

To collect and classify Judeo-Spanish Folktales from Israel, by contacting the Sephardic bearers of this oral Folk tradition. The urgency of this collection lies in the fact that this oral tradition is at the edge of extinction. The Sephardic stories will be classified under the Aarne-Thompson international classification system (Types of Folktales) The tales will be studied with contrast to their Hispanic-European analogues as well as in comparison with their Jewish and Oriental parallels.
