To apply the codicologica1 method to the manuscripts of Christine de Pizan, one of the major literary figures of the medieval period and the instigator of the debate on the Roman de la Rose. The ultimate outcome of this research will be a full history of the "Scriptorium of Christin< de Pizan." The study will serve as a demonstration in codiological method to scholars in related fields, illustrating one of the ways in which concrete scientific inquiry can serve the cause of humanistic research.
