Italian American Women in the Labor Force, 1920-1950

This project will investigate the role of Italian-American women in the labor force between 1920 and 1950. The study will begin with the Baltimore Garment Workers' Union and expand to compare the example of Baltimore with that of other cities. The study will conclude by estimating the influence of the work experience upon the traditional culture and social structure of the women.
