To investigate thoroughly Chicano/Hispano artistic, folkloric and literary traditions through the use of published materials, museum and private art collections, and interviews with Southwestern artists, writers and folklorists, to study how the Spanish speaking people determined which cultural traditions and values must be maintained, which may be adapted and which may be discarded.
