FAIN: FT-13130-76

Stanley L. Paulson
Washington University (St. Louis, MO 63130-4862)

The stipend will support research on the doctrines of absolute sovereignty and "sources of law" as these were developed by the nineteenth century English jurist John Austin. The doctrine of "sources of law" made it possible to limit legal power. Austin's theory on time to exert influence today, yet no book-length study of his "classical legal positivism exists at this time. Such a book is the aim of the project.
