To continue work on a book dealing with Franz Kafka's later years (1917-24) which revolves around three arguments: (1) Kafka's personal life reached certain resolutions and he was diagnosed as tubercular, (2) this intensified his preoccupation with religious and ethical problems (3) his central theme in fiction changes from the definition of existence-in-guilt to the problems of the individual and community. PI will emphasize the value of these later works as efforts to define the problem of modern human existence in its religious, ethical and social dimensions.
