Elite Responsiveness in Yugoslav Political Theory

FAIN: FT-13246-77

Valerie J. Bunce
Cornell University (Ithaca, NY 14850-2820)

To examine how political theorists in one communist nation - Yugoslavia - have handled the issue of elite responsiveness to mass demands from 1945 up to the present. PI will consider Yugoslav theories of responsiveness and mechanisms to link government and governed, and will consider how the answers to these issues changed over time and in reaction to an ever-changing political environment.
