To begin the biography of Bishop Joseph Strossmayer, the champion of the Croatian nationality and of the Yugoslav idea in the 19th century Habsburg Empire. The biography will detail his activities and evaluate his contribution to the national movement of the South Slavs in the second half of the 19th century, and to the efforts of Catholic and orthodox leaders to achieve ecumenism between their flocks.
