To write a comprehensive historical sociology of ancient Hebrew law which will define the linguistic legal forms themselves (morphological classification) and to identify their institutional matrices (socio-historical classification) without which the linguistic forms cannot be adequately understood. Study will show the influence of these legal language traditions and their institutional settings upon Hebrew narrative, wisdom, cultic, and prophetic literature.
