To complete a manuscript documenting the creation of an explicitly Romantic architecture by a group of French designers coming to prominence around 1830. PI will examine the intentions of these designers and the way in which their creations terminated the classical tradition in French architecture and opened the way for the "Beaux-Arts" architecture of the late 19th century.
