The Nirnayasindhu of Kamalakarabhatta: A Study of Hindu Ritual

To translate and analyze the section of the priestly law book the Nirnayasindhu which deals with the fasts and festivals of the twelve months. This material will be compared with the prescribed annual calendrical rituals in both oral tradition and in a set of popular printed religious instructions with the aim of sorting out basic conceptual factors relating to Hindu belief and ritual.
