A Reappraisal of Marx's Concept of Politics

FAIN: FT-13440-77

Peter A. Stern
New School (New York, NY 10011-8871)

To examine Marx's concept of politics as part of a large study- exploring Marx's humanist vision and the prevailing humanist interpretation of Marx. PI argues that Marx's view of polities is fundamentally in instrumental one, and that his understanding of humanism, as revealed by his concept of the final society, is incomplete and one-sided because Marx demands the abolition of all particularistic associations.
