To begin the second of two volumes on the correlation between basic philosophical conceptions and modern forms of the division of labor. PI believes that society can get beyond obsolete philosophical systems only by modifying the social systems that give them life. The general position is that certain systematic philosophical dilemmas are imbedded in the practical consciousness proper to contemporary social organization. This socio-philosophical analysis of modern value theory will explain the connection between the rules and priorities which govern each form of the division of labor and "natural" attitudes on the philosophical plane.
