To collate the results of an evaluation of the authenticity of Petrarca's Rime disperse, based upon an extensive and comprehensive delineation of the norms which govern the linguistic and poetic systems of the poet's authentic lyrics, as contained in autographed mss. with the extant mss. of these lyrics, and to examine the important mss. for the purpose of establishing the most accurate text.
