To investigate the mathematical sources which PI believes lie behind the syllogistic theory developed in Aristotle's Prior Analytics. Research will examine: l) the mathematical theory which lies behind the syllogistic; 2) the philosophical theory of knowledge which inspired it; and 3) the relationship of the early mathematical syllogistic to Aristotle's theory of scientific demonstration.
