To search the archives of the Conservatory of Naples and the Biblioteca nazionale in Naples for biographical information on Francesco Durante and his music manuscripts. Durante (1684-1755), one of the founders of the Neapolitan school of composition, was active in Naples as a composer and a teacher during the first half of the 18th century. PI intends to compile an authoritative biography of Durante and a thematic catalog of his compositions.
