Labor Policy in Continental Europe

To study government policy toward labor and the labor movement in continental Europe from the early 19th century until WWII. PI will comparatively analyze how governments dealt with the problems of economic insecurity and social unrest during the process of industrialization, and will relate this to the historical peculiarities of the countries, their economic conditions, and their social and political structures.
