FAIN: FT-13663-78

Irvine H. Anderson
Unaffiliated Independent Scholar (Cincinnati, OH 45213)

To write a study of the role of the Arabian-American Oil Company in the American Middle Eastern policy before, during and after World War II. Study will be a careful analysis of the actual role played by a strategically placed joint subsidiary of several major oil companies (e.g. Exxon, Mobil, Texaco and Standard of California).Focus will be on the complex government-business interaction which occurred between 1933 and 1950 as the U.S. awoke to the strategic and commercial importance of Saudi Arabian oil, and moved to acquire a firm relationship with that country. Will be published by a university press.
