A Philosophical Analysis of Concepts in Business and Economics

As a first step towards developing a clear set of core Concepts for the area of "business ethics," the applicant will write an article concerned with the metaphysical and epistemological concepts of Rationality and Utility employed in microeconomic theory. The relationship of these theoretical notions to the actual practice of business will reveal an implicit value system in microeconomic theory which in turn forms the basis of evaluation in business.
