To produce an annotated edition of Henry Fielding's Covent-Garden Journal with textual apparatus and a historical and biographical introduction. The Journal, which ran from January 4 until November 25, 1752, was Fielding’s last effort at sustained journalism and is a major source of our knowledge of his literary, moral and social ideas.
