The Romantic Humanists: An Essay on British and American Moralism in 19th Century Literature

To attempt to formulate a comprehensive theory of the Romantic ethic as an extension to Pi's earlier work in the book Coleridge the Moralist The question of Coleridge's influence as moralist, the structural analogies among the Romantics' renderings of moral experience in Blake, Wordsworth, Byron, Shelley, Keats, Poe, and Whitman, and the concept of "Romantic humanism" will all be examined for this project.
