To complete research for an extensive chapter on CHILDE HAROLD'S PILGRIMAGE (part of a major study entitled The Poetry of History: Studies in the Relationships Among Fact. Myth, and Poetic Form in English Romantic Literature) by tracing Lord Byron's travels on which CHILDE Harold was based. The Poetry of History, in which the study of Childe Harold will play a vital role, will probe—through such detailed analysis of major works—the interactions of personal, historical, conventional, and formal elements in great writings (both poetry and prose) of the English Romantics.
