Philosophical Problems of Linguistics

FAIN: FT-14045-78

Elliott Sober
University of Wisconsin, Madison (Madison, WI 53715-1218)

Research, which will result in several journal articles, will be a study of the linguistic theories of Chomsky. Chomsky holds that linguistics is a branch of psychology. One part of the project will involve explaining how the grammar of a community's language is a function of the grammars of its separate idiolects.
