FAIN: FT-14081-78

Richard T. Wallis
University of Oklahoma, Norman (Norman, OK 73019-3003)

Completion of a philosophical commentary on two treatises on the soul (Enneads iv.3-4) by Plotinus, the third century A.D. founder of the Neoplatonic school of philosophy. Commentary will make available to students two of the most influential, and yet most difficult, works of ancient philosophy. In addition, work on the production of an anthology of the most important and representative Neoplatonic texts in English translation, a sequel to the PI's book NEOPLATONISM. This would make available texts influential on European philosophy, theology, art and literature, many of which are still untranslated into a modern language.
