To work out the tribal groupings and personal identifications for the 3rd century B.C. Athenian lead tablets discovered in 1965 by German archaeologists. Each tablet is inscribed with the name of an Athenian cavalryman, an identification of his horse by color and brand, and the monetary value of the horse. Project will increase knowledge of a substantial number of prominent Athenians of the 3rd century and will be of particular importance for the chronology and social history of Athens during one of its most poorly documented eras.
