of a book-length study on ancient practices that were part of the Mexica-Aztec
religion.
In "Unwrapping the Bundle in Aztec Religion," I argue that the contents, dynamics, ritual use, meaning, and ideology of tlaquimilolli, "sacred bundles," serve as the substructure for understanding Mexica-Aztec religion on its own terms. In the context of specific examples and existing interpretations, I demonstrate that tlaquimilolli as understood, constructed, and used in Mexica-Aztec religion are an Indigenous model for theory and method.
