This project involves preparing for publication a numismatic catalog. Th.S. Noonan and I had worked together for seven years on compiling a complete corpus of hoards with medieval Islamic silver coins or dirhams discovered throughout western Eurasia. When Noonan passed away in 2001, the project was incomplete and required about six months of additional work. To finish and publish the catalog, it is necessary for me to enter new data, scan and label maps, and create cross-reference indexes. These tasks I plan to carry out with the help of the NEH Summer Stipend. Having accomplished these goals, I could turn to formatting, editing, and proofreading the corpus and having it published.
