I am seeking support to complete my book manuscript, "Goddess of the Market: Ayn Rand and the American Right," currently under contract to Oxford University Press. My book will challenge the conventional understanding of conservatism by underscoring the importance of Rand’s libertarian ideas to the conservative movement, and will also suggest new ways to think about the critical relationship between capitalism and Christianity in America.

Title: Goddess of the Market (Ayn Rand and the American Right)
Author: Jennifer Burns
Abstract: Goddess of the Market focuses on Rand's contributions as a political philosopher, for it is here that she has exerted her greatest influence. This is also a story of libertarianism, conservatism, and objectivism, the three schools of throught that intersected most prominently with Rand's life. The terms are firmly defined nor mutually exclusive, and their meaning shifted considerably during the period of time covered within the book.
