My book, Disabled Bodies and Corporeal Politics in Twentieth-Century France, investigates evolving conceptions of disability and bodily normality during the first half of the twentieth century. Weaving together cultural histories of the body, technology, and medicine with political history, the book will explore the complex intersections between disability, able-bodiedness, and citizenship in France while broadening our knowledge of the history of disability activism and the European welfare state.
