This is a five week summer seminar for school teachers on "Communism and American Life." The participants will confront the historical choices, moral dilemmas and intellectual problems that communism posed through a close reading and examination of several of the most powerful and influential novels, essays, plays and autobiographies that emerged from the 1930s.
