Recent History of the Pashtun Tribes in Afghanistan and Pakistan: An Annotated Multimedia Narrative and Guide

FAIN: FX-50009-08

Alexander Nakhimovsky
Colgate University (Hamilton, NY 13346-1338)

The project will result in a collection of annotated and searchable multimedia materials based on documentaries about the Pashtun tribes on both sides of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The project will be of interest to a broad range of humanities scholars and students, both for its content and for the technology used to create it: the same technology and techniques of organization can be used in many other fields. It will also be of interest to computer scientists working on multimedia repositories, and to anybody interested in the history and ethnography of a people many of whom are currently at war with the United States.
