Extending Our Reach: Developing Expanded Digital Content and Technical Capacity at Museum of the Moving Image

The retention of seven staff members, plus additional staff and consultants, to update digital platforms, expand content for online exhibitions, and conduct public and scholarly programs.

Museum of the Moving Image requests $296,490 to substantially increase the Museum’s capacity to offer humanities content to the public through: development of digital content; a new website that will expand access to new and underutilized digital assets; and equipment to support the recording and live-streaming public programs and tours. This project will help us retain staff; restore laid off staff positions; and engage consultants to create lasting, meaningful scholarly works. The results of this project will enable us to continue serving a diverse audience with humanities-rich content related to the study and appreciation of the moving image. Further, it will sustainably extend our reach beyond our physical facility to an unprecedented degree.
