ABSTRACT: Design for a multi-media presentation of a junior-high school level course, "The Heritage of the American Revolution." Aim to combine sound scholarship with advanced learning methods and imaginative communications techniques. Is the American revolutionary experience applicable to problems of emerging nations? What relevance have the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights to the struggle to human dignity today? How revolutionary was the American Revolution? Course to establish the relevance of the American Revolution to the life of the student and to current issues, to place it in a world context. Give life and meaning to major issues, ideas, events and personalities of the revolutionary epoch. Multi-media includes animated and live action films, sound filmstrips, transparancies, reproductions of historical documents, game and simulation projects--each component chosen to achieve a particular purpose within the broad framework of the system as a whole. Provides collaboration of scholar, educator and experts in film-making to produce coherent, integrated set of components that will maximize learning potential of the student.
