Planning for a long-term, immersive exhibition, a website, and related public programs about Brooklyn’s historic waterfront to be located in a new museum at the Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass, a mixed-use redevelopment area.
Brooklyn Historical Society (BHS) seeks a Planning Grant in the amount of $75,000. This support will help enable BHS to complete the complex planning process for its newest and most challenging public history project, "Along Brooklyn's Waterfront." This project will build on BHS's successful interpretation of Brooklyn's waterfront over the past 15 years via cutting-edge exhibits, publications, and partnerships with institutions throughout the borough. The project will culminate in the establishment of a satellite museum along Brooklyn's waterfront in the neighborhood of DUMBO.
