Nuestras Historias: Stories of Mexican Identity from the National Museum of Mexican Art's Permanent Collection

Implementation of the reinstallation of the permanent exhibition, a catalog, and educational programs exploring Mexican art and culture on both sides of the American border.

The National Museum of Mexican Art requests support to complete the re-design and re-implementation of its permanent collection gallery titled, "Nuestras Historias: Stories of Mexican Identity from the Permanent Collection." The updated exhibition, which will be open year round and free to the public, will feature: a new and distinct gallery configuration, improved display panels, newly acquired artwork and updated technological tools and displays to enhance audience experience and increase learning. The new exhibition will focus on the timeless and universal concerns of human existence and identity through Mexican society from both sides of the border with a special emphasis on the evolving Mexican identity in Chicago. The exhibition is scheduled to publicly open on September 11, 2014.
