FAIN: GI-50554-13

International Coalition of Historic Site Museums of Conscience (New York, NY 10001-5822)
Sarah Pharaon (Project Director: August 2012 to April 2016)

Implementation of guided dialogue programs on immigration and American citizenship to be held at 20 immigration, civil rights, and ethnic identity museums across the country.

The "National Dialogues on Immigration" Project will launch new public dialogue programs designed to deeply engage 20,000 visitors of all ages in broad humanities themes. The goal of the project is to spark a new national conversation on critical immigration questions with communities at 20 immigration, civil rights and ethnic identity museums across the country. New dialogue programs will utilize research and programmatic tools developed as part of a pioneering NEH planning grant that brought together a team of museum staff, distinguished humanities scholars and leading dialogue facilitators to develop tools and strategies for fostering dialogue on immigration at museums.
