Support of Museum Fellowship program with Old Sturbridge Village

Intensive 11-month course leading to M.A. degree in historical museum studies of Old Sturbridge Village in Connecticut, in conjunction with history department at U. of Conn. Designed to help fill increasing need for qualified historical society and museum personnel. ABSTRACT: Joint enterprise of History Department of University of Connecticut and Old Sturbridge Village offers an intensive 11-month course leading to M.A. degree in historical museum studies at Old Sturbridge Village and coordinated history courses at University of Connecticut. Program offers courses in museum training, field work, special seminars and conferences, and opportunities to meet and talk with museum administrators--all designed to prepare students for work in historical and theoretical problems related to collections of American historical material and conservation thereof. Program designed to help fill the increasing need for qualified historical society, museum and agency personnel. Funds for 6 Fellows' stipends, tuition Continuation of H69-0-59.
