Four fellowships in American Thought and Culture, combines humanistic M.A. or PhD work at George Washington studying the material culture of the U.S. at the Smithsonian. ABSTRACT: Four graduate fellowships in American Thought and Culture. Program to comine an interdepartmental humanistic MA and PhD curriculum at George Washington University with a course of study in the material culture of the US at the Smithsonian. Students are introduced to the museum aspects of the program in a research orientation seminar and then continue to work on selected subjects under the direct guidance of museum curators. Students continue their liberal education on the graduate level and learn about museum collections and techiques supervised experience. Program designed to help fill the incereasing need for qualified historical society, museum and agency personnel.
