Four fellowships in American Thought and Culture, combines humanistic MA or PhD work at George Washington with study in the material culture of the US at the Smithsonian. ABSTRACT: Four graduate fellowships in American Thought and Culture. Program to combine an interdisciplinary humanistic MA or PhD curriculum at George Washington University with a course of study in the material culture of the US at the Smithsonian. Students are introduced to the museum aspects of the program in a research orientation seminar and then continue to work on selected subjects under the direct guidance of museum curator. Students continue their liberal education on the graduate level and learn about museum collections and techniques through supervised experience in unique national museum. Program designed to help fill the increasing need for qualified historical society, museum and agency personnel.
