to provide two fellowships to attract strong candidates interest in art history and American culture for museum careers in American art. Instruction in the departments of art history and American studes as well as the University Art Gallery will provide for a broad humaniste education with depth of study in the visual arts and training for curatorial and administrative careers in historical societies and museusm.
