Barbara Jackson (Project Director: April 1974 to present)

To present cultural aspects of African adornment patterns in a two-way special exhibition at the Museum's People Center. A principal aim is to involve people who otherwise might not be attracted to the Museum. Showing how the arts function as an integral part of African social life encourages awareness of differing standards of value and contributes to an understanding of cultural differences.
