To bring into focus for the average Louisiana resident, a clear picture of the last 200 years of life and change in Louisiana, to examine the cultures that have contributed to regional history and what the unique qualities of these cultures were as well as to consider what kind of acculturation has taken place in Louisiana and how diverse cultural elements contributed to the formation of the unique character of the state. The project will consist of artifacts from museums and private collections, photographs, recorded tapes, and a descriptive catalogue.
