The Railroad Depot: Focus of a New England Town's Growth

FAIN: GM-10899-77

Danforth Museum (Framingham, MA 01702-8291)
Hedy B. Landman (Project Director: February 1977 to present)

To engage consultants to plan correlated exhibits of drawings, photos, maps, prints, artifacts and documents related to the railway, to the development of Framingham and to architect Henry Hobson Richardson. The exhibit will indicate dramatically how the coming of the railroad to this colonial town in 1834, and the subsequent building of a new station by Henry Hobson Richardson influenced, and still influences the development and character of the town.
