Traditional Norwegian-American Woodcarving in the Upper North-West

To research and assemble a major exhibit of Norwegian-American wood carving art from the Upper Mid-West with examples from the earliest period of Norwegian immigration (1825) to the present by known, unknown and living artisans from the ethnic community and working within the folk tradition. Program would include interpretive displays utilizing artistic, historical and anthropological approaches to the interpretation.
