Implementation of an exhibition interpreting Philadelphia's 1876 Centennial Exhibition, to be installed in a new museum building.

Please Touch Museum requests an NEH support for the production and installation of an exhibit,Centennial Exploration,at the museum’s new facility at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park, site of Philadelphia’s 1876 Centennial Exhibition. The new museum opens to the public in late spring 2007. The Centennial Exhibition will command a central focus in a primary exhibit, centered on an 1880 scale model of the fairgrounds and its buildings. Additionally, the Centennial, Memorial Hall, and its history serve as an interpretive thread throughout the museum. A series of informational kiosks and stations, provides context for the main display and directs the visitor through the museum’s diverse components.
