A series of eight programs dramatizing episodes in American labor history from 1805 to 1919 that will be aimed to the mass family audience through PBS. The series will foster public understanding of the interplay of economic forces, political ideals and cultural values as these were shaped by and in turn shaped the lives of working people of diverse ethnic origins.
