To establish a program of cooperative assistance with the National Public Radio (NPR) whereby scholars participating in the American Association of State and Local History (AASLH) lean serve as consultant- participants for the NPR series on state histories. The project is designed to further utilize the resources of AASLH and to increase the outreach of both the Bicentennial State History Book series and the NPR series, fostering public understanding of the histories of the states and the various roles that each state played in the growth of the union.
